Hello!
I just received a "new" GPU, R9 270X by Asus. The problem is that I get no signal into my VGA monitor connected through a DVI-I adapter(passive) not even bios but my pc is booting into windows. I have a 550W power supply, and I connected both 6-PIN, both leds from GPU (near 6 pin connecters) turned green like it's all good, fans are moving but no signal. (I tried with and without preinstalled drivers)

Currently I am using an older GTX 560 by Gigabyte with the same adapter DVI-I to VGA and no issues here.
Mobo is Asus M4A77 with it's latest drivers. (2010 I guess)
8 GBs of DDR2 ram.
AMD Phenom II X6 1055T.
I know my pc is too old but I can't afford a new one right now.
Do you have any idea about this issue?

Solution
It's possible the DVI port on the 270X may be DVI-D (Digital Only) in which case the adapter needs to be the "active" converter type which converts the output signal from digital to analog.
