Hello guys i have an old ASUS Rampage Formula 1 MOBO. Recently when i used the PC for a while i restarted it for no reason. When it posted i heard one beep and the msg "Suthbridge overheat detected." Press F1 to continue. When i touched the sotuhbridge part(circled in RED in the image HERE ) it was very hot, 80 degrees celsius or more. Do you guys have any idea why this might happen? Thanks in advance! :D

Solution
Aside from the age of the board, not really.

Take the heatsink off of the PCH and see if the thermal pad/compound is still good. Replace if necessary.

If it is a more serious problem, like a voltage leak to ground through the chip, not much you can do unfortunately. If for whatever reason it just runs hot now, you can always aggressively cool it with a larger heatsink and/or fan.
