So I went to check out this used computer to find out not all 8GB are read, but only 6GB. I swapped them all, booted with only one dimm, using all four of them, so I know the dimms are ok. The slots are shown as populated in the bios but total memory is shown as 6GB.

The weird thing is that CPU-Z was showing 6GB before i did all that and afterwards it was showing 8GB.

I checked corsair's website and the compatibility chart for the mobo, and I came to the conclusion that this board does not support 4x2GB. Am I correct ?

Also I did a benchmark with 3Dmark11m and the overall results came out awful, can't remember exactly what they were but it showed "better than 28% of all results". Is something wrong with this computer ? it is only a year old and never been overclocked.

make sure the motherboard bios is up to date and under ai tuner you have xmp profile turned on. on the back of the mb make sure your connected to the gpu and not the onboard video. in bios make sure sata chipset set to achi mode and your ssd on the intel not acmedia sata ports. in windows make sure the newest intel chipset drivers are installed and your not missing any of the newer intel med or irst drivers. make sure your running the newest nvidia video drivers.

Ok I will ask him if he can do that on his own, not sure he can though, but will give it a try until I go back there.

So for the RAM issue you think it is not a compatibility issue ?

3Dmark11 detected the 570 wouldn't that mean it is connected via the gpu and not the onboard video ?

Make sure all 4 DIMMs are install in the "same color slots" of the 8 slots available....

Go into the BIOS, you should select XMS profile..... try
Set 1333Mhz .... try
Check RAM Voltage, that's 1.5 volt RAM so shouldn't be a trouble but try bumping up to 1.55 or 1.6 volts as this may help.. try
