donno about others, but I don't have a 7" tablet right now and am looking for one. if Google keeps the $199 pricing, yes, this is looking good. if not I will slam it left and right :p

as for apple, I like their products, my beef with them is pricing (MBA aside). like the ipad mini, if ipad mini 2 had this marginal increase for a $300+ price tag, wouldn't you slam it too?

Hmm.. I lack the knowledge of editing my post. Regardless,

"If Apple has this marginal increase in specs you'd be slamming it left and right..lol"

You call this marginal? The ppi goes from to 215 to 320+, a huge increase, and it gets double the ram, and a much faster cpu. In one year.
That's a lot more than a 'marginal increase in specs'.

In other news: my bathtub leaks badly. Seriously, these days no one accidentally leaks anything. This is probably some sort of viral/bacterial marketing ploy by Asus/Google.

If it goes for <$300. It would be the best 7 inch, and at that ppi the best ereader at the price point. Would make a great companion with my nexus 4

Marginal?

1280x800 to 1980x1200
Tegra 3 to Snapdragon 600(a HUGE increase)
1gb ram to 2gb ram
8gb base to 32gb base
Bluetooth 3.0 to 4.0
An addition of an 5mp camera on the back
Wireless N, NFC, and Qi

All while most likely maintaining the $200 price-point. This is anything but marginal.

Don't worry about him, he's just trying to troll around. Obviously he doesn't even know what the current specs are, or even what "specs" means...

Love the specs. This makes it even more appealing if they can finally role it out with Ubuntu Touch. I've been holding out on a tablet for a long time because I just wasn't "thrilled" by anything on the market, but with these specs and Ubuntu in a 7" form factor and I'm going to get pretty thrilled pretty quick.
