Hi guys,

I recently purchased a Maximus VII Hero. The seller had already informed me that there were bent socket pins, and it will not POST, although it worked before. Everything lights up, and it look darn cool, tbh.

Anyway, basically, after fiddling about with the pins, and failing to get anywhere, I was going to sell it 'not working/for parts' for whatever I can get.

Before I do, does anyone know if it's possible to get Asus to fix these, or at least do it at a lower cost, as I understand it's extortionate? I don't have any proof of purchase, obviously, but it's all boxed up with accessories and looks in pristine condition, all labels & barcodes present.

To summarise, how do I blag my way to an Asus motherboard repair/replacement with no proof of purchase, and has anyone else managed it? I'm in the UK, if that changes anything.

BTW, the pins look better now than when I got it, but you can still see that something just isn't quite right...
