[SOLVED] Asus ROG G46VW not booting ?

So, I got this laptop from a trade, its definitely seen better days, but I'm fixing it to give to a family member. But I'm encountering an issue where when I press the power button it tries to turn on (get power led and keyboard backlight) for about a second then it turns back off. It makes a speaker noise and the caps lock led flashes just once during the process but thats the only indicator led that turns on, nor does the capslock give me an error code blink. I get no charging led when the charger is plugged in, nor any other indicator leds, but the battery seems to charge because when I unplug it it still tries to turn on. So I'm thinking its a mobo issue... Could anyone confirm?

First thing I might do is to test it with another adapter.

You can use any adapter with the same output (V/A) and connector with same diameter/polarity.
