Asus ROG Maximus VII Hero Mobo, is this normal?

Everytime I load the bios for Maximus mobo, it asks me to "Save Changes & Reset". This did not happen when the profile was set to "Auto". Is this Normal? Here is a picture of what I am seeing:



It is currently in XMP mode where it set the "Core Ratio Limit" to 44 and every time I load the bios it asks if I want to reset. When the profile was set to "Auto", the core ratio limit for all cores was Auto and it never asked me to save and reset. No overclocking has been done, 4.4Mhz is typical for the 4790k. Is this normal for the motherboard to ask each time?

Is this after you go into the BIOS? or is it booting itself into the BIOS?

Its after I go into the Bios and NOT booting itself into the bios. I go into the Bios to check the settings. It's weird because each time I go in, no changes are being made yet it still prompts me.

Do you have the latest BIOS? And are you exiting or saving?

I have the latest BIOS offered from the Asus site, 1701 I believe. And each time it prompts me, like the picture shows above, I hit "OK". I don't make any changes and as you can see, it shows you that that its going from the "Core Ratio Limit [44]->[44]" like I changed something but I made no changes.

I don't remember having that happen - but when I go into BIOS I generally and changing things, should be able to check tomorrow evening or Tues. I just put a 1080 in my Z170 and am tearing both 4770K rigs down for cleaning and changing out their GPUs

The weird thing is is that it doesn't happen when I change my settings to "Auto". Its not causing any issues with the system but I just thought it was odd that prompted me to save settings when nothing is changed.

Are you sure maximus VII - latest BIOS for it is 3103, think you have the Hero VIII the Z170 version, if so let me know and I can check mind here in about an hour and a half or so (am recording a movie at the moment with it

You're right, I went into the BIOS to check and it is 3103. I don't know if this is a sign that my motherboard is faulty or the BIOS is corrupt. All other settings remain what they are so I know the CMOS battery is fine.
