asus rog maximus viii extreme bios Q - code 00 bios will not launch

hi guys this is my first pc build. my mother board is the asus rog maximus viii extreme. im having a problem with the bios not starting. it strangly started once to where i continued to install my os via a bootable usb. when i wanted to do a test restart the bios did not load up. there was no splash on the monitor. mouse and keyboard are not being supplied with power. i did i reset on the MB just to make sure its not a ram problem but still no luck. my monitor is connected via hdmi and it doesn't show signs of it being connected. im stumped. i get the code 00 if that helps.

update: the code jumps between 55 and 00 but its seems there was a defect with the power sockets on the motherboard. after testing a few methods with asus tech support, they deemed the board defective. i new board is being shipped. will give an update when the new board arrives

update: new board is in and the same problem persists, but its only giving a 00 on the motherboard. i noticed that the red cpu light is on the mb. does that mean the intel i7 i installed is defective?

Something is wrong with the power supply 8 pin power cable, I guess. Make sure that it's properly connected at both ends.
Test the 4+4 pin connector too.

i have a 4 pin and 8 pin power cpu connector. do i plug in both or just one?

Connect them both.

both cables are attached and still no post, the cpu led is still there

Then I suggest re-seating the CPU. Try posting here a picture of the CPU socket.

Pins are ok.
I'd RMA the CPU too.

should i rma the psu too or would that be not nessassary?

Hard to say. It's a good one. You can RMA it, just to rule it out.

got my parts in and a new cpu and psu are in place. POST starts up on the first try 😀 now i can start configuring my settings and start installing a mountain of software. hopefully i can get a free copy of windows 10 if the promotion is still going on
