So I'm planning to buy this motherboard with 16gb ram 3666mhz , I went to see what ram does it support and the 3666mhz wasn't there , what will happen when I install this ram to the mother board? Error or what?
Ok I'm confused now , when I want to buy the ram for example I want to have 4133 , I'll go and buy 4133 or buy 2666 and overclock it? And anyway is it safe for me to buy the 3666 for this motherboard or I should go with what the site says
You will get very minimal improvement from RAM over 3200mhz compared to the price you will, pay. If you want 3666mhz RAM then go ahead and buy it, the XMP profile will handle it. Gskill ripjaws V will work fine.
the thing is....I wouldn't get all caught up in RAM speed and OCing it....because as

I would probably buy the 2666 and not OC it. It would be fast enough for anything I need it for.
I have a Maximus X Hero board and it runs 3200Mhz ram just fine. Although i dont use XMP profile as i always manually set my speeds and timings in the bios.
