I recently build a PC using Asus rog strix b550-f motherboard with 5900x. I haven't noticed before build this system is this board doesn't have a usb-c front panel header while my case have the connector. Now I looked this Cablecc USB 3.1 Front Panel Socket & USB 2.0 to PCI-E Express Card Adapter for Motherboard on amazon. In the review mentioned this card working on 3.0x2 mode. my current board already have a wifi 6 card and a video capture card on two pcie x1 slot. Not sure the spare pcie x16_2 slot can run on 3.0x2? or only run 3.0x1. Any help? Thanks.

Solution
That's why you can just use the x16 slot, unless your really need it, for something else. You can put a card into a slot larger than what it is called for, just typically not the other way around.
Too bad the usb c on my case will useless.
Use Adapter.

The second x16 slot runs at x4, so that card would be able to run at x2 in that slot. It will disable the x1 slots though.
