Hello!
So I recently was having issues with the device overheating. I disassembled, re-pasted the CPU & GPU, and gave it a nice cleaning....it needed it.
It stopped running hot for a bit until I noticed in the background I had a Bitcoin mining application draining the CPU. I just decided to wipe everything and reinstall windows.
Now in the ROG Gaming center it does not display CPU or GPU information. I tried to also install Intel XTU but when I try to run it, it says " unable to start due to drivers not running"....
I reinstalled all drivers and BIOS. I'm really stumped.
When I try to change the fan to Boost, it doesn't seem like anything happens. The fan remains at a constant speed. Despite having new thermal paste ( I used artic MX4) and a cooling pad, it still seems like it's running hot when I try to play a game.
I'm thinking maybe the heatsink is bad?
Would anyone be able to help? Thanks!
I should advise, hwinfo pulls all information but ROG gaming center does not display anything.
