Hi everyone,

I will pick a new Asus ROG Strix Gtx 980 and will use it with a new core i7 cpu combined with 8 GB Ram.

I wonder whether I will be able to play Assassin's Creed Unity, Syndicate, Far Cry 4, Batman Arkham Knight and the newer games of 2015-2016 with all ultra settings at 60 FPS.

For instance, as for Unity I wanna play the game using max. antialiasing with Vsync on. I suppose it is called as TXAA. Will gtx 980 be enough for getting stable 60 FPS on all ultra?

Solution

FXAA may add a slight blurryness to your game but I'm really sensitive to blur so you may not notice it, but in most games I cannot notice the blur, I used FXAA on GTA 5 while waiting for my 980 and it still looked very good, I prefer MSAA but FXAA does a very good job with less...

Yes, you will get that on most games. There will be certain games where it may go lower. This does not apply to any unoptimized games such as certain early access games.

Let us discuss about Assassin's Creed Unity,
To play at stable 60 FPS on ultra what settings should I use?
People say FXAA and vsync on with all the other options selected as ultra.
Is that true?

I wonder the difference in terms of performance between FXAA and TXAA. What is the difference between them?

I haven't come across a game that the 980 can't get 60fps on for me, If it does dip below 60fps slightly, you can always overclock it or drop MSAA to 2x or FXAA.

Very nice answer, thank you. With using FXAA and Vsync on, I will not lose so much quality in the game, right?

Thank you. I am using core 2 duo E8400 with Asus GTX 760 and having 35-50 FPS on MSAA-8x and all ultra in Assassin's Creed 2, Brotherhood. It is not so bad for this cpu and gpu, I suppose. It is a good performance.

I heard that Batman Arkham Knight requires a GTX 980 for ultra playing experience. Is it true?

Batman Arkham Knight runs bad on 9/10 systems, even high end systems, it's a terrible port but they're trying to fix it and release a patch to sort this.
