I am building my first PC and I had an ASUS ROG Strix Z370-E on my list for a while until I revised it and found the ASUS ROG Strix Z390-E, it looks cooler and is newer, and its cheaper than the Z370. Why is that? is there a performance/feature dropoff between the two that makes the newer mobo cheaper? Which board is better for me? I play heavy modded Arma 3, Siege, and more at 1440p.

Both boards would handle an i7-8700K quite well.

I would say get the Z390-E board. It uses the newer chip-set and the vrm setup is better as that board was built with the 9700k and 9900k in mind

So, there is no reason to to go with the older one in my opinion
