I just put together my new build (11900K, EVGA FTW3 3080 ti, Trident-Z 4000 MHz) and I’m trying to update my BIOS to the newest 1402 version from 0707.

I downloaded 1402 onto my Local C, renamed it using BIOSRenammer in the extracted folder, no problems there. When I go into the EZ Flash 3 Tool in the BIOS, the file shows up so I thought I was getting somewhere. I select it and it says “Do you want to read this file?” So I select “Yes” and it freezes. It won’t give me the “Do you really want to update BIOS?” prompt.

I thought maybe I was trying to jump to many versions so I tried just one update newer, 0903 I believe, and it still freezes on that first prompt. What can I do?!

Solution
Put it on a thumb drive. Rename it on the thumb drive. Point your BIOS update program to the directory on the thumb drive where the correctly named file resides. Done.
