Hello everyone,

I returned my first Asus ROG Swift monitor because it had a dark spot on the bottom right corner.
Amazon sent me a replacement monitor today - same exact thing....

So im wondering, how common is this...?

My first monitor had a sticker that read "october 2014". This one says "November 2014".

Here's an image i took of the screen while running UDPIXEL

Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated. How long should i give it before deciding it's not gonna get better? Also... is it normal that this screen is significantly darker at 120Hz than 144Hz? The second i switch it to 144Hz its super bright. When i change it to 120Hz the screen immediately gets so dark that i have to turn up its brightness to 100%.

It's hard to say how long to give it. What's the return period? If say it's only 14 days, I'd try to get a steady week out of it at the very least. As for the variation in brightness between refresh rates, you've got me on that one. It makes no sense why one speed setting would cause a variation like that unless it has something to do with Lightboost and it running at it's native speed. As I said, hell if I know on that facet.

I assume you're using an Nvidia card, so perhaps you need to tinker with the Nvidia Control Panel a bit and see if you can't get it figured out there. You might also reach out to ASUS directly and ask them about it.

Ok, so in conclusion, here is what's going on. This is the 2nd monitor i received and it has even bigger flaws than the previous one. It pretty much does NOT support any other refresh rate than 144Hz and that tells me that it's broken.

Going to return it. End of story.
