I'm currently in the process of building a high end gaming rig. Of course, I needed a monitor to compliment this and so started looking at 4K (The Acer peedator g-sync one) but this seemed like to much hassle. Then I looked at 1440p monitors and the Swift came out on top of all lists. Every site loves them with 5 star reviews everywhere but everyday users are reporting dead pixels, backlight bleeding, blurry text etc. from any time from straight out of the box (Bad QC) to a few weeks of use. My question: are these reports accurate for most or are they in fact a minority due to the amount sold at launch causing a higher number of complaints? How many people have had perfect experiences with it? Is it worth me buying this or just downgrading to a 1080p high refresh rate monitor and maybe buying a 1440p high refresh rate monitor when more are maybe released in 2015?

I have a pixel perfect one with little light bleed, I may have lucked out. But otherwise I am happy enough with my monitor. I can understand how people are more vocal about the deficiencies of the monitor though. It IS the first G-Sync AND 144hz 1440p panel available, there are bound to be a lot of "OMGEERRRRDD GIMME DAT SCREEN" hype, and subsequently a lot of disappointments, bad panel streaks, etc etc. I have no idea whether swift's case is normal or abnormally high.

My verdict is that I have no deep regrets so far with the monitor, my only issue is that some games completely ignore your ICC settings when in full screen mode (something I have yet to find a permanent solution, but I am still looking), so if you value out of the box...

That being said, if you put your work into getting a swift to work, it doesn't dissappoint, I wasn't dissappointed. The most I would do is add an IPS on the side, but never replace it.
