I just purchased the ASUS ROG Swift TN PG278Q monitor and a day later learned that an PG279Q IPS version is being released sometime this summer.

Should I return my PG278Q Swift and wait until the PG279Q IPS version releases, or keep my TN Swift? Will there be a drastic change compared to the TN panel? I cannot decide. Please share your opinions. Thank you.

[strike]He is saying that he bought ASUS P278Q, and it's is a TN panel. Now they have released.. ASUS P279Q. It's IPS.
personally I would recommend that you return the p278q right away [/strike][strike][/strike]

I found the PG279Q( IPS). In answer to your question, I would wait to find out the cost of the new model.. The WQHD monitors that I'm familiar with are IPS panels. I looked at the specs of the PG278Q , and it describes the panel only as WQHD

But apart from that it seems to have the same specs.

If you are getting close to the return limit on the other model, then return it. You can always buy it again, but you will likely be out the cost of shipping and maybe a restocking fee.
