Hi!

My setup:
i7-4790k
16Gb RAM
250GB SSD Samsung EVO
2x MSI GTX 980 OC

I got a BenQ XL2720T 120 Hz. I want to upgrade to g-sync in the next weeks. Which of the 3 monitors you recommend and why?

1.) Swift
2.) XB270HU
3.) XB270H

I play mostly shooter like CS:GO and battlefield and games like Diablo 3 and I would like to play the games all on ultra settings. Is it rly that worth to upgrade to 1440p with my setup?

Thanks for your help :)

Solution
Dual GTX980, yes, you have more then enough horsepower to run 2K at 144FPS.

Managed 90FPS minimums on BF4 @ 4K Ultra with a pair of GTX980 myself.

I'm personally holding out for the ASUS version of the XB270HU. Announced, but not yet released Asus PG279Q.

Or Acer's X34 3440x1440 IPS at 75Hz with G-Sync.

The battle is between Asus ROG Swift and Acer XB270HU. The Swift is TN panel while the Acer is IPS. The swift has better build quality thought. It's your call, although if it was me I'd go for the acer because of the IPS panel.

Is IPS rly that better than TN? And what about the build quality of the Acer is it THAT bad?

Is the power light of the Acer disturbing because it's blue and in front of the panel?

The Asus has good build quality but that doesn't mean that the Acer has BAD. When comparing the two pros and cons the build quality is ZERO compared to the TN vs IPS panel debate. The IPS is much much better with clearer images, more dynamic and smoother. No the light is not disturbing. Take a look below, it's those two monitors next to each other

i personally prefer the IPS color range far more than TN now, even with the slightly slower response, then again i'm also using my rig for design work... eyes last a lot longer between needing a break.

can't speak personally to either's build quality, sorry

And just for gaming purpose? I use it like 95% for gaming and watching things in browser. Still the IPS over the TN of the Asus and the lower respond time?

You won't even notice the difference in the response time while you will notice the difference between the IPS and TN. Go for the Acer, you won't regret it one bit.

I perfectly understood what the Qgon is asking. Just pointing out that products, with clearly existing examples, were made at E3, so it shouldn't be too long for there to be seven more G-Sync monitors to pick from.

They haven't set a release date, as far as I know, for the Asus PG279Q. From the looks of it, it will have the exact same panel as the Acer monitor. I just don't like having so few options. One IPS and one TN at that resolution and size with G-Sync. ROG Swift has been tempting me since I bought a GTX980 on release day.

With both monitors the return rate for bad pixels and/or simple quality control issues (finger prints under the anti-glare coating) is pretty high. I think they are just trying to shove as many out the door as possible since the demand has been extreme (and returns high, a vicious cycle)

Definitely stay with sli 980's. performs way better than single 980ti.
and ASUS just launched P279q, IPS with 144hz Gsync monitor. Its the Bomb :pt1cable:
