I recently got a cheap asus router to extend my range into the dead zone of the house but every time I'm in the middle of a round of BF4 or some other game it just disconnects me from the server and all internet functions go down for a few seconds. Every time I've reset and re setup the router in repeater mode I've been hit with a warning message saying things like: you may have changed ssid or the parent AP may be disconnected. I've been screaming, tearing my hair out, and overall been furious over such a stupid situation. Can someone tell me how to fix it or should I just call up my isp and have them run a second wire into the dead zone for another router?!

Solution
Could you tell your new router model ?

That seems a signal issue , could you check for the FIRST router wireless signal power at your NEW router location (right next to it) ?

You can always wire connect your new one to the old one , then it has to be setup into AP mode .
