I have an ASUS Sabertooth Z170 mark 1 MB and I cannot get my A2 DIMM slot to work. CPU is Intel i5 6600k, 8 GB Gskill DDR4 2133 as two 4 GB modules, PSU Corsair RM750x. The entire system worked on another MB but when I tried it on the Sabertooth it would only boot when one 4MB Gskill is in the B2 slot. I have reseated the CPU and the cooler to no avail. BIOS has not been flashed. Is this simply a bad DIMM slot?

Maybe a bad slot rbreckwoldt. You should test your DIMMs with MemTest86+ from a USB stick or try switching the Modules around incase one DIMM has failed. Ensure they are seated correctly, especially on the offside to the clip.

Check the slot for contamination, Blow out the slot with compressed air from a can and clean the DIMM terminals with ISOPR0 95%. Only do this with power disconnected.

Tried switching the modules and both work. Have not tried other solutons will do soon. I have tried same cooler on another board and had varying degrees of success getting this board I knew worked with this cooler, I finally had to finely adjust mounting screws to get it to POST properly, it seems the mounting screws do not seat the cooling unit perfectly flush, somewhat difficult to screw mounting pegs in, which really should not be
