Hi to all! I am thinking of buying a new graphics card for my computer, an Asus geforce GTX 1060 6gb Dual OC. I would like to know if this is compatible with my computer? These are the main features of my computer:

I went to a computer store, and took my computer to find out if the 6GB graphics card was compatible, they saw the features of my computer, and they said the only difference is that the card is PCI Express 3.0, but that's it it has no influence.
Last week I tried a 3GB graphics card PCI Express 3.0, I uninstalled the drivers with the program Display Driver uninstaller. I turned off the computer, changed the graphics card, turned on the computer and it did not boot, it just showed the image of the motherboard when you turn on the computer. In bios I could not even enter.Just a small thing, with the 1GB graphics card I currently use, which is about 5 or 6 years old when I turn On the computer the motherboard does not turn On any light, and with the 3GB card I tried, turning On the computer turns On a red light on motherboard.

Does this whole problem have to do with the power supply?

Sorry for this topic, but i'm not a professional on computers.

Solution

Try using another driver version or allow Windows to install the drivers.
Since the drivers you are installing might not be fully compatible.

So your PC was running fine until you removed the display drivers with DDU.
What was the model of the 3GB card you installed?
Are you using the 8-pin ATX 12V CPU power cable from the PSU?

Turn OFF the computer and unplug the power cord.
Remove the GPU
Connect your monitor to the motherboard integrated graphics.
Enter the BIOS and Load Optimized Defaults.
Does your PC boots into Windows?

If it does the power OFF and disconnect the power cord
Install the GPU and make sure it is seated properly.
Connect your monitor to the GPU.
Connect the power cord and power ON.

My PC is working fine untill i install the 3 Gb GPU,after that it doesn't work and I turn back to my 1gb GPU without any problem, the only thing i have to do is install the drivers.
The model of graphic card i tried is Asus GeForce GTX 1060 Dual 3GB OC.

This graphic card have 6-pin

In this vídeo you can see all of my PSU: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1n5gRekRdKw

My motherboard does not have integrated graphics.
Sorry for my bad english

Download the latest drivers for your GTX 1060 from nVidia.
Just uninstall the old video card drivers from the Device Manager.
Power OFF your PC, unplug the power cord.
Press the power button for 15 seconds to discharge any electrical current.
Remove the old video card from the PCI-e slot
Install the new video card into the PCI-e slot and connect the 6-pin PCI-e power connector.
Plug the power cord and power ON.
Install the drivers you downloaded.

I know the GPU has a 6-pin connector but I was referring to the motherboard which has an 8-pin ATX connector.
You have a Core i5-2500K, which has Intel integrated graphics.

I've done that 2 or 3 times, and the computer will not boot. The motherboard shows a red light, and on the screen it only shows this and its impossible to enter on bios

I found this photos on google, but the problem is the same

Last night i tried it again, but his time i disconnect HDD hard drive 2TB i have, and DVD reader. The only disk I left connected was an SSD disk, and the computer boot and enter on Windows without any problem. Then I installed the drivers of gtx 1060 3gb, and the graphics card was installed. After that i reboot the computer and the graphics card fans did not even work.and a few minutes after entering the windows the computer always freeze.

So you installed the drivers then the graphics card?
or
You installed the graphics card, the PC booted and then you installed the drivers?
You should try that again but allow Windows to install the drivers.

First I install the graphics card, then i turn on the computer, and on Windows i install the drivers. After entering on Windows the computer does not do anything, and after that i install the latest NVidia drivers and boot the PC.When I start session on Windows the computer stills ok for a few minutes, but from one moment to the next the computer freeze.

Try using another driver version or allow Windows to install the drivers.
Since the drivers you are installing might not be fully compatible.
