OCZ3G1600LV6GK ran stable for years at 1600 8 8 8

I bought another set and installed and ran into stability problems.
The cpu is water cooled. The ram is fan cooled. Default settings except for the ram manually set to 1600 8 8 8. No over heating ever experienced. This is a rock solid stable system, just will not run with 12 gigs installed at any timing.

Memory tested good with memtst86 + with all 12 gigs running at speed.

Bios 1402
cpu I7 950
Drives Intel 480 gb SSD, WD 1 tb hd Seagate 1tb hd
Graphics Nvidia 650
after market sata 3 controller for the ssd drive
PSU 750 watts
Windows 10 64bit

Update: Something wrong with the new memory? The timing keeps changing in the bios from 8 8 8 to 9 9 9. Speed stays at 1600. I discovered this when using just the new memory, took my old memory out. I'm going to keep researching until I find a solution.

This memory is on the Qualified Venders List downloaded for the Asus website. The first set I've been using for years with no problem. The second set is identical to the first. Each set has matching serial numbers ending in -1 -2 -3.

With all 6 modules installed the computer will pass the memsest86+ running at 1600 8 8 8. However I experience freezes, crashes, read/write errors to drives and instant reboots under Windows 10 64bit.

Another update. The bios timing changing is a fluke. happens with my old memory too. Resetting the bios to default fix's the problem.

12 gigs passes the memtest+. Windows 10 64bit starts. When there's an intensive read/write operation windows freezes or the computer does an instant restart. I have a 17.5 gig download directory I use to copy to a couple other drives to verify this.

I've tried 1066 speed, 1300 speed, 1600 speed. I've tried DRam voltage 1.65 and QPI/DRam 1.35 as found in the Asus pro forums.

Stable under Memstst+ but not Windows !0 64bit.

Is there a possibility this is a driver problem ?

Also tested on Windows 7 64 bit today. Same problems regardless of memory speed or timing.

One last very remote possibility to check is a bad connection between the cpu and the cpu socket. I've read in a couple forums that reseating the cpu has cleared up missing memory problems. This is a long shot at best. And because I'm on an extremely tight budget and have no thermos paste this will have to wait until next month.
