asus sabertooths and memory

at the moment, i have a p67 sabertooth , i5-3570k, and pc 1280 memory, or 1600mhz memory....this board, and the z97 sabertooth only supports up to pc 1866mhz memory...why are the new z97 sabertooth not able to use faster memory modules? all the other z97 chipset asus boards support many more faster memory modules.

that is just marketing, i would say...Any sabertooth mobo with an unlocked (k) cpu can support ram, as fast as, the installed(overclocked) cpu will allow! and that means anything over 1866mhz! it wouldnt have problem running even 2400mhz!

Hyper DIMM , is another fancy name for overclocked RAM

1333/1600MHZ is still dominating since it sill remains the official supported speed since ivy bridge

i did see others using 2133 memory,,,but i believe the board will cut it back to 1866 speed if i am not mistaken

Correct answer must be like that: becoz SABERTOOTH series designed for stability&longlife, not for OC.
