i am on an asus laptop and when you hit the shift keys something different comes up. and it is both keys. i know it isnot a language problem because when i hook up a usb keyboard everything is fine. ihave used compressed air as well as tried the sticky keys and filter keys

The model is Asus X202E notebook pc
And i followed every direction i got from that site. I have been doing it now for about 5 plus hours doing it over and again. And no luck.
I want to say that i used compressed air more then once. I checked and double checked the sticky keys and all that.
If i hook up an external key board then that works fine.
This really bites and i dont know what else to do

|^+)P that is exactly what i get when i hit the left shift key

;v.j,/ and that is what i get when i hit the right shift key

i just tried that which you sent the reset i also did the sharp keys and all i have noticed that when i do something i get to use the shift keys one time and 1 time only

from PM

its odd that left are all shift characters (need to hold shift in the get them) yet right aren't but that is about only pattern. If video didn't help, you may need to get it fixed.

try booting into safe mode and see if its the same there -
go to settings/update & security/recovery and on right column, under advanced start up, click restart now
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose start up options
hit the restart button
choose a safe mode (it doesn't matter which) by using number associated with it.
PC will restart and load safe mode

does shift still do the same things?
