Hi!
So I just got my hands on an old Asus Silent Knight cooler, which, as far as I know, is the first edition. Google tells me that the first edition was for old Pentiums and Core 2 Duos, and that the second edition is for Core 2 Quad, but is there really any difference, as they're the same socket? Got a Q9400 running with stock cooler right now, therefore the question.
As for the other question - the Silent Knight is quite heavy and I'm afraid it might damage my motherboard with its weight pulling down on the socket. Can it happen, and if yes, how could I prevent it?
Sorry if I come across as a noob, I just have no experience whatsoever with aftermarket cooling.
Thanks! :)

Had one in my old pc, never had a problem, you just need to attach the adapter on the motherboad...it's only 450-610g depending on being the AL or the regular copper...
It was compatible with all CPU's...As said, you only had to install the propper adapter...

Thank you! :)
It's the copper version. So if I install it correctly, I should not worry about any pending damage?

Edit: I just realized a backplate is needed, which I don't have. Would a 775 backplate from eBay fit?
