Has anybody heard any rumours about if/when Asus might make a Socket 939
Nforce 3 board?
I've been contemplating getting the via based A8V Deluxe, but I've been so
happy with my nvidia based A7N8X Deluxe, that I wouldnt mind staying with
nvidia.

That would be the A8N, which seems to have vanished, it used to exist,
honest.

Same with me, but as long as there is no 939 Nforce 3 I switched to Via.
Works like a charm The A8V deluxe is a very nice board.
I would say reconsider.

It took ASUS several months to release the K8N after the K8V (oh man did i
wait), so while an A8N may be in the works, it could be a while - I agree
with Frank that the A8V is a very nice board. If anyone can make VIA
livable for an Nforce lover, it's ASUS. The only real negatives are: 1) LAN
is PCI which will effect LAN performance if you have another PCI device
connected [sound card, etc), 2) no native SATA - you'll need a floppy drive
and "F6" drivers.

here's an interesting list @ anandtech showing which 754/939 boards have
on-chip LAN:

ps i have the k8n-e with a newcastle 3400+/corsair 2-2-2-5 - zero problems
(well, that weren't my own :) since first boot.

Thanks for the replies. That is all very interesting indeed. After having my
A7n8X Deluxe for 1 1/2 years, I am now blown away at all the choices in
cpu's, and motherboard chipsets. It's really crazy!
