Asus strix 1070 OC running hot

So i recently got this card and for some reason it hits 79 C in games (the 1060 i had before hit 65 max). Tested both cards in Final Fantasy 15 and its weird that the 1070 hit such high temps. What could it be?

79 C isn't necessarily that hot. If you are running games at the highest quality, the card might just be running warmer because it's a more powerful card. You really only need to start to get worried around 85 C and up.
It could also depend on the fan situation though. With a blower style cooler on the card (One kind of weird looking fan) it will just run hotter. I assume this card does not have that but it is something to keep in mind.

If you are really concerned about temps, I recommend running MSI afterburner or another OverClocking toolkit that allows you to limit temps and manage your fan controls. On my old 960, just having this open improved my temps by 10 C because of the program's fan controller. You can also limit power draw and temps in these types of applications.
