ASUS Strix GeForce GTX 980 Causing my PC to black screen and shut it self down whenever I play games

Whenever I start playing a game, my whole PC just stops working and the screen goes black,
I very recently put the Strix GTX 980 in my PC along with a Corsair VS650.
I have tried to revert back to older NVIDIA drivers but this doesn't work.
So far I have tried the new Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain and Counter Strike: Global Offensive; each crashing after at least 5mins of play time.
Could it be something in relation to the PSU?

My Specs:
GeForce GTX 980
Intel Core i5-4670 @3.4GHz
8GB RAM
Win 10 x64bit
Corsair VS650
ASUS H81M PLUS Motherboard

I assume you checked things like powersupply not dropping out or voltage issues - card hitting thermal limit ?

and yes I believe the card is having voltage issues despite the fact I have 650W which is above the recommended amount. Any tips on how to fix?

first you got to find whts wrong ?

is it the psu is not holding up under load ?? get something like hwmonitor64 and look at the psu voltages are and see if there in spec ?

check cards temps and all with something like gpu-z under load ?

try card in another computer to see if it does the same thing ??

to me if its doing fine for like you say 5-10 min, it seems somthings dropping out like the psu may not keep up with demand under load or high temp shutdown ?

all I can do is guess at that from here

I have the same problem.

But my power suply has 1200 W.

I found the my Asus strix 980´s fans dont work at any moment. I played Evolve and the pc shoutdown in 5 minutes.
