Is it possible to Flash a ASUS STRIX GTX-1060 ( NON OC Version) with the same BIOS as the OverClocked version, so the Non OC becomes a OC Version :??:

Solution
ya , that's your best bet and safest but don't forget its still a lot of that luck of the draw on weather it will take any oc or non at all and if unlucky still can cause damage to the card in some way if not carefull

afterburner will kick a bad overclock automatically and kick the card back to default before any major damage will be done ? if you trust all that
you could , but don't see who would recommend it . your putting a lot at risk if your not well schooled in v-bios mods and flashing

the reason there non oc ed cards and factory oc'ed cards is that the parts used to build the cards are tested and binnned to guarantee they will hold any overclocking from the factory

its not just they put any old bios on a card and theres that reason why - of course you may have one of them good luck of the draw cards and may work but I would not risk it

best use your own cards bios and mod it before you put a different bios to it and find you bricked the card

[I don't recommend anything I say just pointing things out ] the rest is all YOUR OWN RISK

just to add these cards has the new NVidia gpu boost 3.0 so its a bit more tricky to mod

then this could hamper things as well ?

''There is currently a bug with AMD (motherboards) that may not allow the flash to complete properly. We are looking into it.''

dude it just aint worth it maybe after the cards warrantee is up and you were looking to replace it then maybe play around with all that ?

So it's safer to overclock it using afterburner and bring it up to the same speeds as the OC version then.?

I got the asus dual 1060, which can't stop the fan when the card is cool.
So i flash the bios of strix 1060 O6G, the oc one. Well, everything goes well.
but i still want the non oc version bios of strix 1060. I just want it be quiet, not powerful.
So would you please backup the bios with GPU-Z and sent it to me?
