Hello everyone,

I just completed my first build featuring the Asus Strix gtx 960 2gb version. When I opened GPU Tweak I noticed that in OC/Gaming mode the boost clock shows 1311 Mhz while according to the specifications it must be at 1317 Mhz. Is there something wrong with the card and should I return it or these specifications are not guaranteed and boost clock will be around 1317 Mhz? Thank you.

Solution
The software reading the card's clock speed might be off that little bit. And you're not going to notice 6 MHz. The rated clock speeds are only a approximation. I have a Evga GTX 960 FTW that is rated at a boost clock of 1367 MHz. But Evga Precision and GPU-Z both show it at 1480 MHz. When I contacted Evga, the rep told me I was one of the lucky ones. Some will be a little less and some will be a little more.

There's no guarantee you will get a better card if you return it. Besides, if it bothers you, simply increase the boost clock by the missing 6 MHz.

Thank you for the information. I'm planning to try and overclock the card, I just thought they are all cherry picked and these frequencies are guaranteed. I noticed some other strange things though - playing Assassin's Creed II (yeah I have a lot to catch up with games). At 1080p maxed out settings - objects in the distance are rendered as I approach them and their shadows look distorted until the character comes near them. COD Black Ops is fine at 1080p. I'm going to try some of the modern titles and see how this card handles, but I thought old games like AC2 would be piece of cake for it.

However, thank you for your answer.
