I have a 500W power supply with +12v amperage at 28A. It is currently supplying to my intel i5 4590, msi h97 gaming 3 motherboard, WD caviar black 1 tb and asus strix gtx 960. I read on strix box that minimum PSU must be atleast 400W with 38A on 12v rail.

Currently my system is running fine( assembled my system yesterday ) but im worried about my 12v amperage. Is 28A fine ? If not what problems am i supposed to expect in future?

Solution

GTX 960 only require 430W PSU with 20Amps on its +12V rail. Yours will work fine, no worries.

Card manufacturers usually suggest a high wattage or amps, because some consumers may use crap PSU that may require higher wattage/amps to properly power the rig.

Can I use the ASUS GTX 960 STRIX with this PSU: B-Move 600W: http://www.b-move.es/en/product/600w-retail-series/18/

I have an Athlon II x4 635 2,9 GHz processor.

Thank you!

Yes quite easily, turns out my Strix 960 consumes very less power.

But this PSU has two rails of +12 with 19 amperes per rail. Will work fine??
