My friend wants to get an older pc going again. The delema is upgrade parts or start fresh and build a whole new setup. The budget is 600$ and my friend won't go 4K for many many years.
Current specs
Asus m4n98td Evo
Amd phentom 2 1090t black ed
Gskill ddr2 2000mhz 8gb
Nvidia reference card gtx560ti
700watt psu bronze (not sure make)
I was thinking it would be better to just upgrade gpu add a ssd and new opp system and oc the cpu. I was looking at
asus rog strix rx 480 8gb 260$
Kingston v300 120gb ssd 50$
Win 8.1 140$
Cm 212 Evo cooler
450$
Now the hard stuff on decisions to just do upgrades listed or if there's a way to build an am3+ build or intel without sacrificing too much on the gpu. We want to be able to game 1080p 60fps and be a reliable pc. The old 1090t and its board has been very dependable over the years, just thinking the gpu and standard sata 2 hdd are the issues but maybe someone has more idea or better/other solutions to the delema I'm faced with.
