Hi all, I have a peculiar problem - changing any setting in the Strix Sonic Studio software such as profiles or bass boost etc. has NO effect on the sound I'm hearing. I can choose or adjust any setting and the sound will remain the same. This is with the shipping driver 1.0.9 installed. Somehow the latest driver 1.1.7 doesn't play nice with my Windows 10 Pro x64 1607 build which has been updated to the latest cumulative patch of a couple of days ago. Any fix?

Solution
Only other solution that i could suggest is that you uninstall the latest Win10 update(s) to get the 1.1.2 or 1.1.7 working without giving you driver errors.

Win10 updates are well known for their ability to mess up hardware drivers.

Thank you for the link. I downloaded and installed the beta 1.1.2 driver this afternoon and it replicates the same issues I'm having with the 1.1.7 driver. It works initially and then Windows starts to report a driver error under settings>devices>other devices>Strix Sound Card. Checking under device manager also shows the Strix Sound Card to have a yellow exclamation mark next to it. Only by uninstalling the driver and reinstalling the 1.0.9 driver off the CD can I get it working. The 1.0.9 driver is rock solid (and somehow it sounds better and my friends say my speech over microphone sounds clearer as well), although like I said I can't hear any difference when I change a setting. Strangely, changing settings on both the 1.1.2 and 1.1.7 drivers work perfectly.

Thank you, it worked. I uninstalled the latest Windows update and now the 1.1.7 driver works perfectly again. I see there are reports all over the Internet about the latest cumulative update causing issues for many users. I'll wait until the next Windows update before updating again. Hopefully with better luck. I did a fresh install of Windows on my PC a couple of weeks ago with the Anniversary Edition ISO and I have had nothing but trouble. For now I have disabled the automatic updates in Windows 10 Pro.
