Asus strix Z270F ethernet not detected

I have a dongle to connect to the internet, so i have access to drivers. the problem is that i dont know which ones. my ethernet cable is not detected and i know that the cable is working (tested elsewhere) the issue seems to be a lack of drivers but win10 is supposed to install them automatically. if anyone could add a link in their answer to the driver location, that would be appreciated.

It's on ASUS's site. You want the intel LAN driver.

I have tried this, it brings me to an intel driver installer and says that it cant install it
