Question ASUS TUF B450M-PRO GAMING vs ASRock B450M Steel Legend

R7 1700X @3.9-4GHz as a target
Like dorsai said: neither of those is going to be great for overclocking a 1700X to 4.0 Ghz but of the two the TUF B450m Pro (watch out for and avoid the Plus) is preferred.

The best mATX AM4 board for overclocking 8 core 1000-series CPU's is B450m Mortar. Even then it's quirks make it barely tolerable, and only once figured out.

3.9-4 GHz is pretty much the limit for 1st gen Ryzen from what I've seen, even with the best mobos on the market, not sure if you'll be able to get that far. Either should be fine for some OC though. Doubt there'd be a significant difference between the two, I'd go with the steel legend personally.

Edit: Oops, though you were talking about he B450 Plus. I still don't think there'd be a big difference, but I'd lean towards the Asus B450 Pro.
