Bought an ASUS TUF dash f-15 about a year ago from amazon (i7, 24 GB DDR5, 2TB SSD, rtx 3060).
It was a lemon from the start with computer not going to sleep mode (ever), heating up, and freeze/crash on very casual gaming (WoW) - requiring HARD Shutdown. sadly, I figured out this problem isn't going nowhere 2 days after return option expired.
replaced the RAM (so now I have 2X16), and added another 2TB SSD on black friday (deal was too good to pass).
I'm assuming problem is either GPU, CPU or entire MOBO. there's literally ONE lab in my country which opted to fix it but can not guarantee anything. they offered to order a GPU and try to fix it but if it fails (and computer is still a brick) I would still need to pay for the GPU...
repair is estimated (for GPU and work) as 400$, which I don't mind if at least I knew it would solve this, but I'm not looking to "buy" another component I would not be able to use...
a) based on description, what seems to be the issue with the machine?
b) can it actually be repaired? if so - I would love some recommendations (worldwide service preffered) and what's the approximate estimate on that?
c) if it's not feasible to repair it, I'm looking for a laptop with similar specs regarding CPU/GPU, but something I'll be able to put my 2X16 DDR5 and 2X2TB SSD so it won't go to waste.
I'm a little frustrated...on paper this was a very good laptop, but in reality it was a chromebook with no warranty...
