There are other, similar threads but none of those solutions work on this case.

I have a two year old ASUS TUF MB which I've been using every day for work.

Yesterday, I upgraded the Ryzen 7 to a Ryzen 9.

After restarting, the "Please press DEL or F2 to enter UEFI BIOS setting" message appears as expected, but no combination or duration of pressing DEL or F2 (or F8) causes the BIOS screen to appear.

  • I swapped the wireless USB keyboard for a wired USB one - no change.
  • I bought and swapped the wired USB keyboard for an antique PS/2 one - still no change.
  • I've held both del and F2 during the entire power up process and waiting over 1 minute. Using each keyboard.
  • I've done numerous power cycles and various methods of pressing the above keys and it stays stuck on this screen.
  • I've tried putting a bootable USB stick with a Win 10 install in the USB socket - that did nothing. I gave it about an hour.
I've run out ideas and references.

Bios version supporting the 5900X?
The documentation says that I need to enter the BIOS page to view the version. Since that's what I'm unable to do I don't see how I can answer that.

Are suggesting I put the Ryzen 7 back in order answer that question?
