Hi, this computer was working fine for months but yesterday it powered off and it now will power on but the monitors do not recognize the computer. At first when I powered on the computer, the Red light for CPU was illuminated on the motherboard. I removed and reset the chip and now the White (VGA) and Green (Boot) lights are on and solid. Still not booting.

Any thoughts?

mobo - tuf gaming x670e-plus
cpu - amd ryzen 9 7900x
gpu - nvidia geforce 3060

Pull out your GPU and see if it boots off the CPU's IGP.

If you were using XMP/EXPO and hadn't kept your BIOS up to date it's entirely possible you have ended up with a dead CPU.

So, I bypassed the GPU entirely and the monitor responded. I was prompted to enter the Bitlocker passcode, which I did, and now the machine boots to Windows as expected. However, when the HDMI cable is connected to the GPU, the monitor does not respond. This was consistent when I swapped GPUs, no response from either monitor from either GPU.

Well sounds like you've got known working GPUs and your system boots without one. It sounds like for some reason that first PCIe slot is shot. Do you have a riser cable or are they directly connected? and do you have any other PCIe cards you could check it with? (while not full lanes sound/capture/NIC would let you know of any part of it is functioning).

If the slot isn't working this could still be CPU or motherboard, but I'd lean towards motherboard.

I don't really have anything else to use to test the slot. The is no riser cable, this is a direct connection. Sounds like I am going motherboard shopping this afternoon - thanks for your help!!
