Hey guys ,
My ASUS TUF RTX 4090 won’t fully insert in the Z690 Hero mobo , both of them are Asus products and it’s kinda funny.
At first I thought that the 4090s stock cooler was too wide and wouldn’t fit as it hits against the motherboards cover/chipset cooler .
But I just installed the EKWB waterblock and still won’t go all the way in so the latch will engage. I even dented the motherboards cover from trying too much. I just can’t believe that this is happening with the very same company ,
This leaves me with 2 options:
1) insert the card and return the latch with my finger
2) uninstall the motherboards cover/chipset cooler so the card fully insert and leave the chip exposed.
what should I do ?
here is also a pic with the spot that the card hits against the mobo , my 2080 fits if I push it btw.
