ASUS Turbo GTX 1070 vs ASUS Dual GTX 1070?

Any recommendations between the default ASUS TURBO-GTX1070-8G and the ASUS DUAL-GTX1070-O8G? The Dual looks interesting but I don't know if it provides much extra beyond the Turbo, even though I can get them for similar prices.

Turbo (Standard):

Dual:

I also can't find much online about the Dual in the ways of reviews. Was it just forgotten? Is there a better one for the same price?

For the record, I don't care much about overclocking, but I do care about great cooling. I also like white color cards in general but that's NBD.

Also, should I just ignore all this and get the Strix? I hear they have some issues?

Thanks!

Yeah I agree there hasnt really been any talk about the Dual version of the 1070 or 1060. But you could pretty much guarantee that it would cool better than the Turbo version. The dual version also includes the 'Gaming Mode' and 'OC mode' which offer higher clock speeds and are pretty handy if you dont want to do any overclocking yourself.

The Dual is certainly worth the extra $7 :) haha

Would I be gaining much more from the Dual by advancing to the Asus Strix (non-OC) line of card?

Regardless, if it comes down to it, I will definitely buy the Dual before the Turbo. Thanks!

Not really maybe 1-3 FPS as it has slightly higher stock speeds which can easily be matched with the Dual model.
The main reason the STRIX costs more is due to the backplate, triple fan and RGB lighting.

EDIT: I saw you said non OC model which is actually cheaper than the Dual model, but actually offers lower clock speeds. The stuff I said above applies to the OC more expensive model.

At stock speeds without any manual overclocking the Asus DUAL model is faster on paper than the STRIX Non OC version. You may see 1-3 FPS difference depending on the title. The strix has a backplate, triple fans and RGB lighting

Last question, and I'm hoping you have some better insight into this than I have just exploring the internet. The Strix cards have "DirectCU III" cooling tech (on this page - http://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/ROG-STRIX-GTX1070-8G-GAMING/) which the Dual card does not (I think it's just two of the same fans). Do the direct-GPU contact heatpipes that it has actually provide "30% Cooler and 3X Quieter Performance" or is this just marketing at play that won't make a significant advantage over the Duals simple 2 fan system?

I'm looking and haven't found any strong examination into the tech yet.

I don't know too much about Asus GPUs to be honest, but I have heard that they do make the best cooling. It would probably run a bit cooler than the Dual model, but by how much, I couldnt say. It probably runs 30% cooler than reference design which most board partner cards are.
The quieter thing probably relates to the fans not spinning when the card isnt under load.

That's great info, thank you!
