After getting into the initial settings & seeing administrator PW NOT greyed out but privileges were user, & knowing this computer was NEVER exposed to foreign input yet the computer seemed to be controlled remotely- ( said it was part of a workgroup even though It is Mt stand alone machine only clean flash drives used to store info, yet again right b4 the OS seemed to disappear, so did all of my restore points. I did not have this on any auto updates. The machine went to the first "megatrends" settings screen, as said, but would not allow changes as said.
I took the thing apart down to the motherboard. Nothing left. Took out lithium battery. After a day and pressing the on/off many times to drain any remaining juice, I decided to plug into the energy source only.
For the 1st. Time I had to press f9&f12 to pull up the surprise I am confusd beyond about-- I saw the Megatrends Screen again. BUT everything was greyed out with the date reading 7/22/2010, time reading 04:24:41 (exactly 10 hrs. Difference fom mine). Cursor would not move.

OK now, this was so peculiar, I decided to leave it for a day. Plugged it in again and all was the same EXCEPT the time was running BACKWARD & it was A DAY EARLIER (7/21/2010).
I cannot figure out what is going on here with the BIOS reading VBIOS, Time running backward & all greyed but saying admin priv. in effect of course all very except date working incorrectly.
This computer has NEVER been put on a network, always kept clean (physically & electronically).
If Anyone has any thoughts --- Please let me know because I saved for last this SMALL detail-- this has happened to FOUR OTHER MACHINES, DIFFERENT MAKES and I am now using a LePan tablet on a different & Wi-Fi server, much slower to get this to you 'cause I borrowed a computer & on my Wi-Fi it began to redirect and act up throwing me off this page.
Please help here as I have never known how anyone could capture & control the BIOS remotely but it seems as if thst is what has been happening.
There are several other issues which arose on the first "uncontrollable machine" which allowed me to access different "users" named everything from "remote admin" to "replicator" each with a "code name" like s-55-674-9-etc.
I am very concerned about this as during the first encounter with the 'other users' I communicated with MS Security & had acces to the mmc which told me many things the remote was doing, till I did something ( don't know what) which caused the remote admin to shut the machine down. I had an IT person look at it (did not talk about the information I had gathered, &after two weeks this IT person told me to just get another machine because somehow either an energy surge or flare or the like has done something to the BIOS and for the motherboard to read VBIOS whatever it is/was is an evil thing. He has Never seen a virus do this and does not think it is a virus. He just said it's BAD & GET A NEW MACHINE.
I have gone thru five already, all the same result when I attempt to use the mmc.
Right now this tablet is jumping... I'm sending this now b4 it goes away & I can't get back.
Please HELP ME.
I think I've discovered something No1 is supposed to know.
If at all possible I would appreciate a response to my email as well as a call, if possible.
When I spoke with MSft I reached security lab in NY & after I spoke the woman said not to call back & hung up. I spoke with a professor in Wash. State who heard me & advised me to get another computer, not to try & reset permissions & hung up. I phoned him again &was told he did not exist.
This has been going on for too long. Something is seriously bad here and I will wait for SOME KIND Of answer from you. See there thing is not typing what I type... PLEASE HELP!! ASAP
