Hello all!
I have a Asus U56E that is a year and a half old. From day one the laptop was overheating. It actually burned my leg, and melted the vents.
I contacted Asus, but at the time I was unable to ship them my laptop and be without a computer as I worked telecommute from home. My laptop's system board is officially in need of replacement. I am trying to decide if I should order a new system board. I was satisfied with the laptop putting the overheating issues aside. Two of my friends purchased the same model because I recommended it to them, because I was happy with the laptop. I am trying to decide do I put money into the laptop, or just save the money and save up for a new laptop.
Thanks in advance
Edit: I am a computer tech, and I can change out the sys board myself. Edited the post, as I never mentioned I would be doing the repair. I bought the laptop on sale for 650 at worst buy. Just trying to get a feel for opinions if its worth the repair. with a 5 year old, purchasing a new laptop isn't an option right now. I was thinking about looking on Craigslist, local for sale/wanted, quick quarter for laptops. I wanted to thank the commenter about getting a cooling pad. I will definitely get one, if I decide to repair the Asus or purchase a used laptop
