Hello everyone,
i have the laptop asus ux32v, at this moment my OS is on the classic hard drive, even if i can't see i have a SSD cache, i would like to konw if i can change the ssd cache which, according to the details on Asus is mSATA, instead of SATA.

So my questions are :
- if i change the mSATA, is there any impact on it ? my laptop will work right ?
- if i change the mSATA, and i put the OS on it, so for sure the speed will be better, but if i put a new SSD on SATA, the speed will be the same ? because i don't if there is a difference speed between SATA and mSATA ?

thanks

Solution
The 500GB HDD is a traditional 2.5" (laptop sized) HDD, yes.

The 24GB is flash storage, soldered to the motherboard - completely separate from the 500GB mechanical HDD.

hi Barty1884,
i don't really know about the meaning of "The Zenbook comes standard with a 500 GB, 5400 RPM 2.5" hard disk drive, in addition to 24 GB of onboard SSD storage." is it a physical different hard drive ? i mean, is the 24 Go is kink of physicaly included inside the 500 Go hard drive or not ?

ok, so that means i can't replace the mSATA 24 Go cache right ? my only way is to change the 500 HDD right ?

ok thanks, now it's clear for me

thanks for your help 😉
