Today when i turned on my computer the system wouldn't boot and gave me a beep code long-short-short on my abit kx7-333 mboard. I thought it was a video problem and i found that my fan on the Asus V9280 Ti-4200 video card wasn't spinning! When i toke it out, the fan was pretty stiff and hard to move. Is it not booting because the fan won't spin or because the card naybe is fried? Can i get a replacement fan or should I try to get a warranty from asus?
thanks

As far as I know one thing you don't want to do is to replace the fan! I cannot tell you wether the card is burned or not, but I'd presume that if it is, and you can show that the fan is malfunctioning, warranty should cover it. My gues however is that the card simply stops when it finds out it's running to hot. Either way, don't touch the fan, doing so will void your warranty.

Are you sure the V9280 is still under warranty? Be advised that ASUS customer support sucks big time. I am a loyal ASUS customer (have been for years) cuz they make good stuff but I do hate them for the way they handle customer problems. It is likely you need to clean or replace the fan....

If its still under warranty get it replaced, but dont settle if they offer you a 5200 (or a 5600 non-ultra in fact).... Otherwise you'll have to replace the heatsink and fan.

Double-check warranty terms. Also, it is true that they may try to force a DIFFERENT card on you as a replacement and it is not always a better card. Like FX5200 is newer but WAY slower overall...
