ASUS VG248QE buzzing/whining noise

Just picked up a new ASUS VG248QE monitor and when certain graphical images or games are on the screen there is a faint buzzing or whining noise. When I'm web browsing a forum or any site where there is no images moving around the monitor is completely silent.

I have no problem returning it for another one but I dont want to go through the hassle just to get the same issue if its some option I can disable or some compatibility problem. The sound is present on 120hz as well as 144hz but seems to be silent with hdmi on 60hz.

Im running an i3-2120 with an AMD HD 7770.

I have the latest drivers installed for amd as well.

I have the same monitor and mine makes no noise no matter the HZ setting. I would get it replaced.

Ok. Is it possible having an AMD card could be causing some sort of issue?

Are using HDMI? HDMI only goes to 60hz, so if you put it high than that it might cause problems. You need something like a Duel link DVI

The sound only exists with the dvi on 120 or 144.

If I drop it down to 60 hz with an hdmi there is no buzzing.
