Asus VG248QE cant display 144hz

I've seen this question quite a bit but no answers for me... i can only run 60hz but i am using the dvi cable the monitor came with.

i have a 3gb 770m card so im pretty sure i should be able to change the setting. .

to produce 144hz out of the Asus you need to connect to a dvi-d dual link or displayport. either your monitor or your gpu cannot do144hz through HDMI 1.4a . since you are using the provided cable make sure your laptop is dual link dvi-d capable

You have to use a dual link dvi cable with a dual link dvi capable port.

you need one of the configs i mentioned above. or use mini-DP to DP or dvi-d dual link to mini DP if you will

My monitor is the new Asus 24inch 144hz

I don't see how I have the wrong configs. The thunderbolt port should be capable.

yes, but monitor isnt thurderbold capable so you must use mini DP(laptop) to DP(monitor)

I think the thunderbolt port doubles as a mini display as well though.

on paper yer but since its rather new connection aparently compatability issues are present, since thunderbolt havent move yet to monitors!

Damn. So since i can't make use of the 144hz I should take it back.

Maybe a monitor with higher resolution? Would my cables be capable of running a higher rez?

but you can, as i said mini DP(Asus g750jx) to DP(Asus VG248QE) you only need a cable, i suppose!
check resolutions here GeForce GTX 770M

So I found my issue.. Although still untested... The guy at Fry's gave me an adapter and said it would work although the adapter wasn't a dual link dvi. I have now ordered a mini dp to displayport. Thanks
