Tried to submit this thread before but it wouldn't complete. Trying agin.
Just got the VG248QE monitor tonight. I have an MSI GTX 970 Gaming card and I'm using a display port cable http://. Nvidia Control does not offer 144hz in the settings. What am I missing or doing wrong? Thanks.
Everything what it should be, one thing of interest is that I'm on Wiindows 10. The whole reason I bought this monitor was to play at 144hz. I'm wondering if Nvidia Control panel is improperly displaying the refresh rate in the "Resolution Settings". Contrast that to what is shown in the "Adjust Desktop Size And Position" readout: http://i.imgur.com/GuyhQ6x.png
You may be using a Reduced Bit Rate DisplayPort cable. Have you tried using Dual Link DVI-D? To answer your question, it's possible Windows 10 just won't let you (yet). But I doubt that, Windows 10 is Windows 8 to the core.
i have no experience with windows 10 , however i doubt that your cable is the culprit , any display port cable has enough bandwidth for 1080p 144hz.! dvi d dual link is always an option though.
Well, I just played Elite Dangerous for a few hours and it had the option to go to 144hz. So maybe Nvidia (oh I long for the company they used to be) control panel isn't displaying it correctly. I'm too tired to think about it right now. Maybe tomorrow I can experiment some more.
I had the same problem until i scrolled down...Thats the "Ultra HD" version. The regular "PC" section comes when you scroll down and that allows you to hit the 144hz refresh rate. Hope that helps!
Don't know if it's the latest driver or Windows 10 but the 144hz option now appears in Nvidia Control Panel. Also, Windows display properties was another option I found out several weeks ago. Now if I could just fix the display port missing problem (when coming out of sleep mode, sometimes when booting up). There is no fix that I can find for that (unplugging being the number one listed LOL). But that's for another thread.
This is the "Ultra HD" Setting. Scroll WAAAAY down in the Resolutions and there is a PC setting that has 1920x1080. Pick that one... then it will be 144hz.
