So i just bought my first 144hz display, and i have some question i'd like some help with.

So i tried the ToastyX StrobeLight method which workes fine, the tests at testufo looks awesome.

But when i play cs:go with it, when im moving its like everything looks like its behind this grid, like im not seeing all the pixels, everything is jagged.
This effect stops if i stop moving around.

So i thought, "maybe this StrobeLight isnt for me" and went back to normal 144hz thinking it would look miles better than my $90 previous monitor.
But everything thats moving looks like shit, its like everything leaves a trail that distorts everything next to it, its apparant in windows where moving the cursor creates this light field around it.
Gaming in this mode looks like the game went through some bad photoshop filter, everything is distorted and looks 10 times worse than any monitor ive tried before (ranging for 1 ms 60hz screens to 16ms 60hz screens)
(Edit: what im describing is ghosting, managed to snap a picture of it, the picture is taken at 60hz though, but the effect is present in 144hz too)

Whats up with this, why does 144hz look so aweful?
And what i am seeing in Strobelight mode

Yep, after more troubleshooting, im pretty sure what im describin is ghosting, ive never seen it on a monitor in the past 15 years, so i didnt think it existed anymore...

What in this Tracefree settings? in the drivers on the monitor?

I just turned it down from 100 to 80, and it made a world of a difference.
Moving pictures went from "this is the worst monitor ive ever seen" to "this looks incredible"

Thank you so much for the fast and accurate response.

Do you care to elaborate on what this setting actually does?

BlurBusters has the best description for basically what this does, so I'm going to shamelessly copy-paste from them, if you don't mind 😉

Which btw is a great site for learning about this kinda stuff.

Basically the panel is trying to quickly determine the final color value for certain pixels, and at too high of an overdrive setting, will overshoot the value and cause the ghosting.

hi - I am planing to buy this monitor, so as conclution do you recomand it fr gaming and normal uses for instance watch movie, work on windows or word documents...

Yes, I would. Just make sure to calibrate it to your liking because it can look a bit dim color wise right out of the box. Otherwise it's a great monitor for gaming and for media/work.
