asus VG248QE texture error

my friends monitor keeps turning off and then turning back on after like 5 seconds and says it has some sort of texture error and that the drivers had an internal error.

Then it's probably the video card, not the monitor. The monitor only display what it's told. If the GPU is acting wonky, which driver crashes are a common sign of not enough power or overheating, then the card blanking, again a sign of not enough power and/or overheating, and finally, texture errors, which commonly come when a card is getting too hot and artifacting. My bet is on the GPU is getting too hot.
