[SOLVED] ASUS VG278 144hz problem

I have recently bought a ASUS VG278 144hz monitor thinking that it will solve my issue with my previous 144hz monitor as I thought I was scammed with false advertisement with a 144hz monitor. I have purchased a display port 1.2 and 1.4, I have set the the refresh rate with both monitors to 144hz in the nvidia control panel and the display settings of my pc, I have updated every driver to its most recent version. My issue is that although both my monitors were set to 144hz, I have had friends over, saying that it feels completely different to how 144hz refresh rate feels on their pc's. I have a GTX 1660 Super graphics card where I am able to run up to 144 frames on games but it is does not feel any different to 80hz to 144hz ?
